They come carrying stories we may never fully know, teaching us that healing is rarely linear. It is built through quiet mornings, patient hands, familiar routines, and the unwavering belief that trust can bloom again.
Zissou is named after my beloved Black Russian Terrier, whose presence has become both a mirror and a teacher. Like so many of us, she carries a history that shaped her, yet each day she chooses curiosity over fear, connection over isolation, and love over what came before.
Deep charcoal and plum create a steady foundation throughout the piece, while brilliant magentas, luminous creams, and warm golds emerge like moments of joy breaking through old shadows. Every layer speaks to resilience—not the kind that pretends life has been easy, but the kind that quietly says, I am still here. I am still becoming.
This painting is a reminder that healing often happens so gradually we don't notice it until one day we realize we have become someone—or something—we never imagined possible.
As with every Heart Space Studio original, Zissou was created intuitively and infused with Reiki energy, carrying the intention of trust, resilience, companionship, unconditional love, and the quiet courage to begin again.
