Sunday feels like the exhale at the end of a long week—the moment when the world becomes a little quieter and there is finally enough space to hear yourself again.
There is something almost sacred about the kind of stillness Sunday can hold. Not an emptiness, but a fullness without urgency. The lingering cup of coffee. Light moving slowly across a room. A morning without somewhere else to be. The permission to wander, daydream, rest, reflect, and simply inhabit your own life for a while.
Sunday was created from that feeling.
Deep teal, turquoise, midnight blue, smoky charcoal, muted plum, and soft flashes of luminous cream move through the composition in broad, atmospheric passages. Pools of light appear within the darker layers almost like sunlight breaking through heavy clouds or reflecting across water. There is depth here—places where the eye can disappear for a moment before emerging again into something brighter.
The painting feels simultaneously expansive and intimate. Its darker passages create a sense of enclosure, while the luminous openings seem to offer little places to breathe. Nothing demands attention; instead, the composition slowly reveals itself, inviting the viewer to linger rather than rush toward understanding.
And perhaps that is the heart of Sunday.
We live so much of our lives in motion—doing, producing, tending, answering, becoming. But there must also be spaces where nothing is required of us.
