There is tired, and then there is soul tired.
The kind of tired that sleep alone cannot touch. The kind that comes from carrying too much for too long—from holding everything together, moving through one difficult season after another, tending to what needs tending while quietly wondering when there will finally be space to tend to yourself.
Soul Tired was created for that place.
Deep midnight blue, smoky indigo, muted teal, softened violet, and shadowy charcoal create a rich, enveloping landscape, while pools of luminous gold and quiet cream emerge through the darkness. The composition feels almost nocturnal—like looking across water or through a forest after the sun has disappeared, when familiar shapes become softer and the world asks less of us.
There is weight here, intentionally.
A dark, sweeping form moves through the center of the piece, grounding the composition and giving visual language to the heaviness we sometimes carry. Yet the darkness never consumes the painting. Gold continues to appear. Small luminous openings remain. Light gathers in unexpected places, quietly refusing to disappear.
And that feels important.
Soul Tired is not a painting about pushing through exhaustion or finding the silver lining before we are ready. It is about honoring the seasons when we have reached the edges of ourselves. When resilience looks less like continuing to perform and more like finally allowing ourselves to become still.
Sometimes healing begins with admitting, I am tired.
Not weak. Not defeated. Not incapable.
Just deeply, profoundly tired.
And perhaps there is something sacred in allowing that truth to exist without immediately trying to change it.
Created intuitively and infused with Reiki energy, Soul Tired carries an intention of deep rest, replenishment, tenderness, and permission to put down what was never meant to be carried forever.
Beautifully matted and framed, this 11 × 14 original brings a deep, contemplative presence into its space. It is a piece for anyone who has carried more than most people know and is learning that rest is not something we must earn.
Even in the deepest darkness, there are places within us where the light is simply resting.
