Transformation is so often spoken about as though it is a beautiful, graceful unfolding—as if one version of ourselves simply gives way to the next. But true metamorphosis is rarely so tidy. There is dissolution before there is emergence. There are identities, relationships, beliefs, and ways of moving through the world that must soften, fracture, or fall away before something new can take their place.
And somewhere in the middle, we may not recognize ourselves at all.
Metamorphosis captures that threshold.
Deep indigo, midnight blue, and shadowy plum gather across the upper portion of the composition, creating a sense of depth and mystery, while brilliant turquoise, teal, cream, green, and flashes of luminous gold emerge beneath. The colors seem to stretch, divide, pour into one another, and reform, creating organic shapes that feel simultaneously geological, aquatic, and almost bodily.
