Bright is what happens when light refuses to be quiet.
Not the delicate kind of light that waits politely at the edges, but the kind that spills into everything—warm, radiant, unapologetic. The kind that reminds us that brightness is not frivolous. Joy is not shallow. Hope is not naïve. There is tremendous courage in allowing ourselves to shine after we have known what it feels like to move through the dark.
Bright was created as a celebration of that return to radiance.
Saturated layers of raspberry, crimson, rose, coral, and deep wine move across the composition with an almost visceral warmth. Luminous cream opens pockets of breathing room, while brilliant flashes of yellow and metallic gold seem to glow from within the painting itself. The colors pool, bloom, collide, and dissolve into one another, creating organic forms that feel simultaneously floral, bodily, celestial, and completely abstract.
There is an abundance to this piece.
Nothing about Bright feels restrained. Gold gathers generously across the surface. Light pushes through rich passages of red and magenta. Unexpected openings emerge within the darker layers, creating the feeling that something luminous has been there all along—simply waiting to be uncovered.
And perhaps that is what brightness really is.
