There are moments when the most necessary thing we can do is also the simplest: breathe.
Not to solve everything. Not to understand what comes next. Not to force ourselves into clarity before clarity is ready to arrive. Simply to create enough space inside ourselves for one breath, and then another.
Breathe was created from that place—the sacred space between holding on and letting go.
Layers of rose, raspberry, blush, dusty pink, and deep wine move softly across the composition, interrupted by luminous passages of cream and glowing metallic gold. Small touches of green emerge unexpectedly from within the warmth, like new growth finding its way through an opening. The colors bleed, bloom, gather, and dissolve into one another, creating a landscape that feels simultaneously tender and expansive.
There is an almost bodily quality to the movement of this piece. Forms swell and soften, edges disappear, and golden passages seem to rise toward the surface as though the painting itself is inhaling and exhaling. Nothing remains completely fixed. Everything is allowed to move.
And perhaps that is what breathing teaches us.
A breath asks us to receive and release in equal measure. We cannot endlessly inhale. We cannot endlessly hold. Eventually, the body reminds us that something must be surrendered so there can be room for what comes next.
Breathe is an invitation back to that ancient rhythm.
To soften where you have been bracing. To loosen your grip on what cannot be controlled. To remember that you do not have to carry the entirety of tomorrow while standing inside today.
